Frequently Asked Questions

1

Why does PawsFirst Marketing work exclusively with force-free and fear-free pet professionals and positive reinforcement or rewards-based dog trainers?

With over a decade's experience in dog training and pet care as well as a comprehensive education in the science of dog training, Jen Strum of PawsFirst Marketing is aware that positive reinforcement, force-free, and fear-free methods are the most humane methods available. In most industries, there are regulations in place which keep clients safe. However, dog training and pet care are unregulated industries. As a marketer educated in the field of animal behavior, it would be against Jen's values and ethics to promote other methods of care. Being a marketer who also focuses on authenticity in her marketing strategies, doing so would be a contradiction of all things PawsFirst Marketing stands for.

2

What design programs do you use?

PawsFirst Marketing creates graphics and website designs using Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe After Effects and Figma

3

What web development software and tools do you use when coding a website?

PawsFirst Marketing uses the following coding languages and programs to code your website: HTML, CSS, Javascript, and Webflow. Once coded, all sites are then tested using real devices and real device simulators to test that each page looks its best on all devices and screens of all sizes.

4

Can you build or rebuild my website using the website builder from my website provider (Squarespace, Wix, GoDaddy, etc.)?

PawsFirst Marketing is able to work with the web builders of all major site providers. However, clients should be aware that the builders are created to be user-friendly for the common user. As such, the software has pre-set layouts and very large code, and they cannot provide the level of versatility, technical SEO, creative design, or user experience that can be provided when we design and code a website from scratch.

5

Why are there no prices listed for many of your services?

All one-on-one PawsFirst Marketing services are tailored to each individual business. While there are certain services offered from certain categories, one size fits all packages are not offered, because one size never fits all.

Each business receives a proposal with recommended services, based on the specific things that they actually need.

Before any proposals are sent, your business is reviewed and assessed. Using the information gathered during our initial discovery call, your answers on the pre-consultation info form, and even a little 'undercover detective' work, PawsFirst Marketing gets an understanding of your business and what you need to succeed. Proposals for web services or marketing services related to the web (such as SEO, website copy and content, or user experience) begin with a thorough audit of your site and web presence.

You receive a proposal that recommends the services you need, priced based on the amount of service you need, which means you never get a service designed for someone who needs something different than you and you never pay for more than what you need to attain your goals.
